The Hour of Code concept has been a giant boon for engaging teachers and students in learning computer coding. However, why tease your students with only an hour? Would you teach any other subject one hour a year?
Moving beyond that first hour can be a challenge. However, I've got eight fantastic lessons and activities that will spark a joy for computer coding while teaching real computer science. Even better, they will all link to other parts of the curriculum, so that code will not just be taught in a vacuum.

Library Teacher, Norwood Public Schools
I’m an elementary library teacher that has been heavily involved in ‘making’, makerspaces and coding in the last few years. I’m into robots, automata and books. Tinkering and riffing on ideas with my students are the best parts of my day.
